Imagine sitting at a restaurant under a palapa overlooking the ocean as whales breach the azure water. If you are serious about whale watching, Todos Santos is a must for your next getaway. Some of the best places for whale watching are in Todos Santos.
Whale Watching Season
Whale-watching in Todos Santos begins in October and lasts until Februeary. November through January is when the Humpback Whales appear. Humpbacks love to jump out of the water (breach). They are quite playful and love to sing. It’s common for their distinctive song to last up to 20 minutes with frequent encores! They also love to show off for the female whales by slapping their tail against the water to create a large splash.
Like many people, the Gray Whale spends January to mid-March in Baja. The pregnant females arrive first, followed by their mates. It is a magnificent sight to see Gray whales vertically pop from the water to look at their surroundings (skyhopping)! Like their cousin, the Humpback, they enjoy swimming and dilly-dallying on the beaches of Todos Santos!
